Ventilation with heat recovery

We are assessing the possibility of returning some of the heat from the exhaust air to the supply system. We select the type of heat exchanger, anti-freeze protection scheme and automation, taking into account contamination and the operating conditions of the facility.

  • Assessment of applicability based on temperature, humidity and exhaust air composition
  • Plate, rotary and intermediate circuits according to the task
  • Frost protection, bypass and service access
  • Calculation of the effect only based on the parameters of a specific object

01

When is recovery justified?

Recovery can reduce the heating or cooling load of the supply air if the system is running long enough and the exhaust parameters allow the heat exchanger to be used safely. The solution requires calculation: the percentage of heat return cannot be promised without air flow, temperature, humidity and operating conditions.

02

Restrictions for production facilities

Dust, sticky aerosols, aggressive impurities, high humidity and the risk of contamination transfer influence the choice of circuit. In such cases, pre-treatment, separated flows or intermediate coolant are considered. Access for maintenance and cleaning is provided at the design stage.

How the decision is made

  1. We collect the parameters of supply and exhaust air.
  2. We check contamination, risk of freezing and work schedule.
  3. We compare acceptable schemes and requirements for automation.
  4. We coordinate equipment, routes and maintenance.
  5. We design and install the system to the approved scope.
04

What data is needed for calculation

We need air flow rates and temperatures, humidity, the composition of contaminants, work schedules, available coolants and a diagram of existing ventilation. If you have plans, a project, a specification, a photo of the site or a list of equipment, please attach them to the application. If there is insufficient data, the engineer will draw up a list of questions and determine the need for an examination.

05

How cost and schedule are determined

We prepare a commercial proposal for the “Ventilation with heat recovery” service after checking the volumes and conditions of the facility. The price and duration are affected by the performance of the system, the length and cross-section of the networks, the composition of the equipment, the height of the work, automation, access to the site and the limitations of the existing production. A fixed price without this data would be unreliable.

06

Geography and the next step

We work with industrial facilities in Karaganda, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Zhezkazgan, Semey, Astana, Kokshetau, Kostanay and Petropavlovskovsk. We evaluate the possibility of departure and mobilization after studying the task and site.

Recovery is considered as partsupply and exhaust ventilation, and not as a separate universal equipment.

Frequently Asked Questions

Only a calculation based on air flow, climatic parameters, operating mode and heat exchanger characteristics will give a useful assessment. A universal percentage for all objects is incorrect.

Sometimes yes, but cleaning, surface contamination and the risk of contaminant transfer must be assessed. For some processes, a split-flow scheme is chosen or recuperation is abandoned.

Yes, from the initial assessment. After studying the problem, we will determine how much research and design is needed before purchasing and installation.

After checking the initial data, volumes and site conditions. In the commercial proposal we fix the scope of work, delivery boundaries and calculation assumptions.

The main geography is Central, Northern and Eastern Kazakhstan: Karaganda, Pavlodar, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Zhezkazgan, Semey, Astana, Kokshetau, Kostanay and Petropavlovskovsk.
